The American Institute of Applied Sciences in Switzerland (AUS) is thrilled to announce that it was successful in its application to join the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE).

EURASHE is a Brussels-based organization, founded in Patras (Greece) in 1990 as an international association promoting and emphasizing professional higher education (PHE). EURASHE has more than 50 members all around Europe, through which it represents more than 500 universities of applied sciences, university colleges, and other institutions of PHE in Europe.

Three purposes were at the origin of EURASHE:
  • to promote the interests of PHE at a national and European level;
  • to cooperate internationally on the development of PHE;
  • to promote internationalization within its member institutions.
By becoming a full member, AUS not only engages with the EURASHE networking opportunities and resources but gains a partner to advocate on its behalf in all relevant policy-making platforms of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). In its turn, AUS is committed to contributing to the EURASHE capacity building, but also continental representation, as the first member to join from Switzerland.

Gaining EURASHE membership forms part of the advancement of the internationalization and community engagement strategies included in the AUS Strategic Plan 2022 - 2027, through which AUS aims to engage prospective partner networks and higher education institutions with the scope of developing strategic research initiatives and enhance the international growth of our institution.
