AUS included in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database (WHED)

The American Institute of Applied Sciences in Switzerland (AUS) is delighted to announce its inclusion in the prestigious UNESCO World Higher Education Database (WHED). This significant achievement signifies our commitment to global education standards and our dedication to providing students with a world-class educational experience.

The WHED is a globally recognized repository of authoritative information on higher education systems, academic credentials, and accredited higher education institutions that meet WHED criteria. Our inclusion in this esteemed database reaffirms our institution’s standing as a provider of high-quality education on an international scale.

The impetus behind the WHED’s creation gained substantial momentum during the UNESCO Global Convention on the recognition of higher education qualifications. This convention had a core objective to enhance transparency in the global higher education landscape and to offer valuable guidance within the ever-evolving higher education sector. By establishing a standardized listing of higher education institutions, the WHED plays a pivotal role in achieving these objectives.

According to UNESCO, the WHED serves several crucial goals:

  1. Fostering Global Transparency: The WHED fosters transparency in higher education on a global scale, ensuring that information is readily accessible and reliable for students, academic institutions, and employers worldwide.

  1. Facilitating Global Communication: By featuring institutions from around the world, the WHED promotes communication within the global higher education community. This facilitates collaboration, knowledge sharing, and the exchange of best practices.

  1. Enhancing Access to Information: The WHED provides a centralized platform for accessing information about higher education institutions and their programs. This enhances the speed and reliability of obtaining critical information for academic and career decision-making.

"The AUS inclusion in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database is a pivotal step in the ongoing efforts our institution is making to elevate its global recognition, promote growth, and further our internationalization strategy, in alignment with the Strategic Plan 2022 — 2027," declared the AUS President, Mr. M. El Khansa.

AUS is proud to be part of the WHED community, and this achievement underscores its commitment to providing students with an exceptional educational experience that meets international standards. It also reflects our dedication to fostering academic excellence and global collaboration.
