2. Multiple Intakes per Year

The American Institute in Switzerland has three admission intakes per year: fall, winter, and spring. Fall intake begins in September and ends in December, winter intake begins in January and ends in March, and spring intake begins in April and ends in July.

3. Multiple Specializations Options

At AUS, you can study an undergraduate or graduate degree in business or specialize.

Accounting, Marketing, and Human Resources are some of the many bachelor specialization options, while Aviation Management, Data Analytics, and Leadership and Change specializations are available at the Master's level.

Students enrolled at AUS may choose to engage in the Dual Degree Program in conjunction with Tiffin University in the United States.

4. International Recognition

AUS is chartered under Swiss law and recognized by the Department of Education in the Canton of Vaud as an Institute of
Higher Education. AUS is a member of the Swiss Federation of Private Schools (FSEP) and Swiss Private Schools (AVDEP) and is accredited by ECBE (European Council for Business Education), IACBE (International Accreditation Council for Business Education), and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

In 2020, AUS reviewed and updated its curriculum to provide unique opportunities for our global students by leveraging the educational strengths of both Switzerland and the United States. AUS announced a partnership with Tiffin University in the United States of America, allowing AUS students to obtain a dual degree from both Universities. Students enrolling in the Dual Degree Program will further see their degree accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

In addition, AUS is proud to be recognized as an official IATA (International Aviation
Transportation Association) Authorized Training Center offering students several options to build and grow their careers in aviation.

5. Soft Skill Development

At AUS, we focus on integrating traditional business knowledge with practical decision-making, problem-solving, creativity, and strategic thinking while engaging in real-world projects. We create a learning environment that emphasizes collaboration and team building alongside healthy competition. The collaboration with the IBM Academic Initiative empowers students to graduate with hands-on experience with the latest technologies and tools that will help them build skills that are in demand for today’s workforce.
As an accredited institution with the IBM Academic Initiative, AUS has a first-hand view of the latest technologies and business trends across several industries.

App Development skills are in high demand. As an Apple Authorized Training Center for Education, students learn how to code, create and build apps.

6. Personalized Learning

With a class size of 15 to 20 students and a faculty-student ratio is roughly 1-7, facilitating a deeper working relationship between students and professors coupled with feedback and coaching. Each course integrates a minimum of two experiential learning activities such as simulations, case studies, individual and/or group presentations, and projects.

7. Support Services

AUS provides various support services to students such as:

  • Career Support – The American Institute in Switzerland is highly focused on career pathways; combining theory with practical experience. We are committed to the training and development of our students, empowering them to discover their career paths and succeed in all aspects of professional life.

  • Dedicated support is given to students advising them on internships and career-related opportunities.

  • Learning Support - The AUS Academic Coordinator provides learning development support for new and continuing students. Students are assisted with course scheduling, curriculum information and the development of life and academic skills in and out of the classroom.

  • All students will meet with the Academic Coordinator each academic term for a better understanding of educational and professional goals at individual level

8. Great Student Life

With our campus located amongst the Swiss Riviera's beautiful scenery, we organize trips to explore the rich cultural heritage and beautiful architecture. Offering plenty of nearby attractions, destinations, and ski resorts, Switzerland is ideal for our students to learn to ski or snowboard, go hiking, or visit local festivals

The hub of campus life at AUS is our student clubs - Sharks, Tigers, and Eagles. Students and faculty run the clubs, which exemplify the energetic and creative atmosphere throughout our university. Through our clubs, our students engage in friendly competition through sports and activities.

The clubs organize various social activities on and off-campus, including ski trips, hiking, barbeques, club nights, cinema evenings, quiz nights, and networking events. There are traditions such as annual marathons and cultural days and plenty of opportunities for students to attend musical, cultural, and art shows.

10. Student Housing

AUS has several fully furnished single and shared rooms within a five-kilometer radius of the university campus. All charges are included in our university accommodations.
