Overview
The Master of Science in International Business Administration (MIBA) program at the American Institute of Applied Sciences in Switzerland ensures that our students are fully prepared to lead and manage in today’s competitive and changing global marketplace. We focus on integrating traditional business knowledge with practical decision-making, problem-solving, creativity, and strategic thinking while engaging in real-world projects. When a MIBA student successfully completes the DDP, the student will graduate, in their chosen specialty, with a Master of Science in International Business Administration (MIBA) from AUS and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from TU. MIBA students will also receive a Professional Certificate from TU in their chosen specialty.

Dual Degree Accreditations
Dual Degree Structure
In order to receive dual degrees, students must successfully complete the required AUS and TU courses. The curricula are mixtures of AUS and TU courses designed to provide students with the maximum exposure to the necessary knowledge and skills for the future workplace, emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, research technologies, and multimodal communication methods.
The TU programs are all online with videos, discussion rooms, readings, and other assignments. For the most part, the students will be in the same class as TU students, thus enabling interaction. Students will take both AUS and TU courses to complete their required coursework. Courses will be taught on campus and remotely.

Program Structure
The Master of Science in International Business Administration (MIBA) is a two-year program during which the student must obtain 90 credit hours | 120 European Credit Transfer System. The two-year program structure comprises six academic terms, with three terms per year (Fall, Winter, and Spring). Each term typically includes ten weeks of instruction and two weeks of examinations.
A standard course of study to complete a MIBA program over two years requires the completion of fifteen AUS core courses, two AUS elective courses, ten TU core courses and four TU specialization courses. In addition, nine credit hours are required for Capstone work which starts during the last academic term and can be completed up to six months after graduation. The MIBA Capstone work can be either a thesis in the form of a research proposal, where the validity of one or more hypotheses is investigated, or in the form of a business plan.

The conferring of a MIBA degree from AUS follows only after completing all the following requirements:
- Academic credit requirements - a minimum of 90 CH | 120 ECTS.
- Academic performance requirements - a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Capstone: Thesis in the form of a research proposal, where the validity of one or more hypotheses is investigated, or in the form of a business plan.

This course is a comprehensive approach to the multitude of organizations and flow management systems for managing healthcare. Students explore the historical context, social implications, evolution and current state of healthcare services in America.
Topics include the types of managed care organizations, provider payment plans, utilization control, negotiations, underwriting and rate setting, and managing efficient and effective organizational structures. The course also addresses marketing and information systems (both onsite and web-based) for business operations and management decision making in the industry.

The course is designed to expose students to significant current issues that impact the healthcare professional. Topic areas will include healthcare industry-specific marketing, technology, finance, human resource management, the political environment, healthcare management culture and other current issues as they relate to the healthcare administrator. Topics will vary as changes to the industry environment dictate.
This course is designed to educate students regarding the complex and volatile aspects of healthcare financial management and how these aspects affect the processes associated with provide healthcare services in a variety of healthcare settings. Topics address organizational behavior while focusing on wage and benefit factors, operating revenue by payer sources, healthcare tax status information, managing capital, capitation and fee-for- service reimbursement, healthcare reform regulatory requirements related to reimbursement for all sectors in the industry, capital and financial budgeting and forecasting, managing inventory, strategic planning, and healthcare ratio analysis.
Students investigate the application of financial management to an industry where reimbursement from payers has declined for over a decade while the demand for technologically advanced and expensive healthcare services will soon meet a breaking point. The social justice issues of quality, access, and cost for healthcare services is examined within the reality of available funds to provide such services.

This capstone course will require students to examine general healthcare administration issues within a framework of legislative issues and their impact on healthcare systems in the United States. Special emphasis will focus on the changes in federal governmental regulations and their impact on quality and financial administrative issues.
Through the case study approach involving politics, policy, regulatory environments, economics and ethics, students will critically analyze issues for both healthcare providers and organizations related to corporate governance, personal choice, and regulatory compliance. Topics will include applied ethics, conflicts of interest, and allocation of scarce resources, FDA regulations, confidentiality, payment policies, patient rights, data security, professional liability, and global competition.
