The courses in the IB concentration will give the students an opportunity to learn about the functioning of the international economy and how multinational firms of all sizes, both governmental and non-governmental working in a variety of cultural and political/legal environments, interact with it. The courses will also allow students to learn about international trade theories and agreements, global financial markets and the financial skills required for effective management of companies engaged in international business with an emphasis on international financial management.

Overview
The Master of Science in International Business Administration (MIBA) program at the American Institute of Applied Sciences in Switzerland ensures that our students are fully prepared to lead and manage in today’s competitive and changing global marketplace. The International Business Management Specialization enables the student to build upon the solid foundation from the core coursework in the MBA program and provides students with the knowledge and capability necessary to function effectively as managers in today’s competitive and globalized economies. The courses in the IB specialization will give the students an opportunity to learn about the functioning of the international economy and how multinational firms of all sizes, both governmental and non-governmental working in a variety of cultural and political/legal environments, interact with it. The courses will also allow students to learn about international trade theories and agreements, global financial markets and the financial skills required for effective management of companies engaged in international business with an emphasis on international financial management.
When a MIBA student successfully completes the DDP, the student will graduate, in their chosen specialty, with a Master of Science in International Business Administration (MIBA) from AUS and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from TU. MIBA students will also receive a Professional Certificate from TU in their chosen specialty.

Dual Degree Accreditations
Dual Degree Structure
In order to receive dual degrees, students must successfully complete the required AUS and TU courses. The curricula are mixtures of AUS and TU courses designed to provide students with the maximum exposure to the necessary knowledge and skills for the future workplace, emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, research technologies, and multimodal communication methods.
The TU programs are all online with videos, discussion rooms, readings, and other assignments. For the most part, the students will be in the same class as TU students, thus enabling interaction. Students will take both AUS and TU courses to complete their required coursework. Courses will be taught on campus and remotely.

Program Structure
The Master of Science in International Business Administration (MIBA) is a two-year program during which the student must obtain 90 credit hours | 120 European Credit Transfer System. The two-year program structure comprises six academic terms, with three terms per year (Fall, Winter, and Spring). Each term typically includes ten weeks of instruction and two weeks of examinations.
A standard course of study to complete a MIBA program over two years requires the completion of fifteen AUS core courses, two AUS elective courses, ten TU core courses and four TU specialization courses. In addition, nine credit hours are required for Capstone work which starts during the last academic term and can be completed up to six months after graduation. The MIBA Capstone work can be either a thesis in the form of a research proposal, where the validity of one or more hypotheses is investigated, or in the form of a business plan.

The conferring of a MIBA degree from AUS follows only after completing all the following requirements:
- Academic credit requirements - a minimum of 90 CH | 120 ECTS.
- Academic performance requirements - a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Capstone: Thesis in the form of a research proposal, where the validity of one or more hypotheses is investigated, or in the form of a business plan.
- Attendance and residency requirements.
Courses
Structure and operation of global financial markets: The international monetary system, global banking, eurocurrency markets, global securities markets, foreign exchange markets, emerging capital markets, and global portfolio management. Financial skills required for effective management of companies engaged in international business.
This course deals with investment issues that are unique to emerging economies since they are likely to afford significant growth opportunities for global investors. The course will provide a framework for understanding the international financial environment including markets, systems and institutions and will focus on challenges confronting firms that compete in the global marketplace.
An array of issues relevant to firms operating on the global stage, including analyzing international opportunities; developing foreign entry, growth and pricing strategies; financing business operations; and leveraging resources and capabilities internationally will be discussed. We will discuss techniques that will enhance investment decision-making by future managers in emerging markets.

The course explores the nature and steps in negotiation strategies for conflict/dispute resolution, labor/management relations and mediation. In addition, the student evaluates interpersonal skills in order to achieve positive outcomes.
This course will focus on the application of marketing principles in the globalized markets of the 21st Century. The combination of global free trade philosophies with local market conditions present an array of opportunities and concerns that need to be understood and managed throughout the world. The course will emphasize the global nature of these decisions and their impact on the management of products, services, brands and new market development.
