Dual Degree with Tiffin University
The American University in Switzerland (AUS) and Tiffin University (TU), Tiffin, OH have entered into a new partnership, allowing AUS students to obtain a dual degree from both institutions.

The partnership offers bachelor's and master's degrees in business with multiple specialization options. To receive the dual degrees, AUS students must successfully complete the required AUS curriculum and TU specialty courses. The TU programs will be online with video, discussion rooms, readings and other assignments, as well as in a hybrid format with some instruction provided on AUS's campus.

American University in Switzerland (AUS) is delighted to announce a collaboration with eCornell, which will provide AUS students studying a Bachelor or Master program in Switzerland, access to professional certificates from Cornell University, ranked in the top 20 universities worldwide.

The collaboration will allow students to choose from a range of certificate programs, amongst which, Business Strategy, Project Management, Business Analytics, Design Thinking, Python Programming, Digital Transformation, Innovation Strategy, and Fintech.
IATA Authorized Training Center
The American University in Switzerland is proud to be recognized as an official IATA Authorized Training Center.

Offering a degree with a specialization in Aviation Management and specific IATA certified training courses enables students to gain expert industry knowledge from a global organization in air transport. Courses available to students will complement the AUS curriculum and give real-industry insight to support academic knowledge.

Topics such as Air Transport Fundamentals provide an overview of the air transportation system and illustrate the interdependencies among its various components, and Aviation Security Awareness, which looks at introducing security measures and regulations to keep the industry safe.

The new initiative will start in the Fall Term 2021.

The course will then dive into the internal workings of a business undertaking. Business English Communication
This foundation course provides students with the fundamental soft and hard skills required for effective English communication as a means to successfully deliver what is expected from them in their current studies and in their future roles in professional situations. As a student-centered learning environment, students are given every opportunity to practice and improve their communication skills. Students identify their individual needs and make progress through the use of problem-based learning methods, such as real-life case studies, group discussions, and individual or team-led project assignments. High exposure to business-related situations and a variety of tools and strategies help gear students toward becoming more fluent and confident in their use of the English language.
Introduction to Management
The managerial principles and techniques underlying the successful organization are examined. Emphasis is placed on the basic functions of planning for future organizational growth, organizing and staffing for efficient operation. For students with basic accounting knowledge, a practical accounting class with exercises about different business models and special situations.
Sustainability
The achievement of balanced economic, social and environmental development - as expressed in the UN Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development - is recognized as one of the major challenges humanity is facing today. What is less clear is whether and how organizations can generate business opportunities and value for their stakeholders while tackling such challenges. This course will examine the framework of sustainable development in terms of how thought leaders in a wide variety of management and economics fields assess and seize the opportunities offered by these global challenges. The course will examine new ways to understand the purpose and the logic of success of the business enterprise in the context of sustainability, providing ideas and examples on how to manage the transition process to realize the value creation potential from corporate sustainability for all involved stakeholders. Lastly, the course focuses on the role of businesses in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. For example, what can businesses do to counter climate change and create a sustainable business culture? Why is this relevant for business anyway? Students will be encouraged to actively engage in discussions, simulations and exercises to better understand the sustainability challenges that organizations face in their business activities and corporate strategies.
Business Planning and Budgeting
Business Managers have to make crucial and critical decisions. The procedures and techniques of statistical analysis are used to ensure that such decision making is based on relevant and factual information. Business Statistics examines ways and provides procedures/tools to collect, interpret and transform data into information which is used to inform business decision making. Statistics itself is comprised of two major branches, both of which are applicable to managing business. Descriptive Statistics focuses on collecting, summarizing and presenting a set of data, optimally. Inferential Statistics uses sample data to make inferences about a population. Applications of statistics extend to all key areas of business including finance, marketing, management, entrepreneurship and accounting.
Accounting
Accounting provides information that is useful for decision-making in predicting cash flows about economic resources, claims to economic resources, and changes in economic resources of an organization. Students are encouraged to work toward becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

Accounting Information Systems
This course lays a foundation for understanding accounting user support, information technology, and business problem solving. The emphasis of this course is the interrelationship between different facets of an accounting information system. A detailed study of both a manual system and a computerized system is included.
Applied Analytics in Accounting
This course will assist students in developing skillsets to operate with an analytic mindset. Students will be able to apply these skills in all accounting fields including financial reporting, taxation, auditing, fraud & forensics, and consulting.
Auditing
Presents a basic overall framework of auditing and assurance services including both conceptual and procedural matters. Discusses ethical concepts of the accounting profession.

This course explores the physical, psychological, and emotional aspects of development for athletic performance at the youth & interscholastic, recreation and leisure, intercollegiate, professional, and elite level. Issues will also address athlete development influenced by substance abuse, career-transition, and off-field behaviors.
Sports Analytics
The focus of this class is applying analytic techniques to the decisions that athletes, coaches, general managers, and other decision makers encounter in the sports world. Tools used in the class will include statistics, probability, regression analysis and hypothesis testing.
Sports Governance and Administration
This course will examine the role of governance in sports while emphasizing the need for ethical behavior and a managerial approach to effectively lead organizations. The scope of the course includes an overview of public and private agencies governing sports on a global, national, and local stage while addressing leadership, policy, and governance structures throughout sectors of the industry.
Sports Revenue Generation and Sponsorship
This course presents a wide range of views with what it takes to be successful in the field. The goal is to move from a theoretical perspective to a practical view of sport revenue generation, sales management and service, sales training, the art of ticket sales, customer retention, branding, and risk management. Students will learn how to grasp the fundamental concepts of revenue generation, sponsorship, and branding. Students will participate in a ticket sales training program with a professional baseball team.
Supervision in Sport
This course explores the responsibilities and duties of sport supervisors in the youth, scholastic, collegiate, club, and professional sectors on a national and global scale.

International Finance
The study of the institutions, concepts, and instruments of international finance. Current and past international monetary systems shall be discussed. Special attention shall be directed to consideration of accounting, finance and taxation differences global companies (multinational companies – MNCs) experience in the domestic and foreign economies. Other topics shall include the determination of exchange rates and their macroeconomic linkages, the effect of exchange rates on current and capital account balances, and the techniques global companies can engage in to hedge exchange rate risk.

This course will provide information on becoming proficient using various sources of technology with an emphasis on social media. The areas of emphasis include utilizing new media resources, social media communication, crafting press releases, writing a team website or sports blog, social networking for sports such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc., working with sports information, exposure on radio and TV, developing media kits, and writing exceptional headlines.
Sports Revenue Generation and Sponsorship
This course presents a wide range of views with what it takes to be successful in the field. The goal is to move from a theoretical perspective to a practical view of sport revenue generation, sales management and service, sales training, the art of ticket sales, customer retention, branding, and risk management. Students will learn how to grasp the fundamental concepts of revenue generation, sponsorship, and branding. Students will participate in a ticket sales training program with a professional baseball team.
