SSRM 2024
Safety, Security & Risk Management
Conference & Workshop
2nd Edition
Date
Online
29 - 30 November 2024
100% online event
We would like to invite you to the 2nd edition of an international online conference and workshop on Safety, Security, and Risk Management. This annual event is a unique opportunity for scholars and professionals to meet, share their insights, and get inspired to advance their practice and research on Safety, Security, and Risk Management. The fully online mode facilitates participants worldwide to join the SSRM community, offering a platform for global networking and knowledge exchange.

We are interested in gathering ongoing or fresh research on risk management in various contexts, such as private and governmental organizations and non-profits. We welcome multiple perspectives and methodologies.
We would like SSRM to be an interdisciplinary event, and we are happy to welcome scholars and professionals from various backgrounds, e.g. engineers, lawyers, social and political scientists and others. We associate the term “safety” with eliminating the occurrence of injury, danger, or loss. Hence, we are interested in and invite papers tackling topics such as health and safety policies in workplaces, training of crews and workers, insurance, providing customers with safe products, services and infrastructure, environment-friendly solutions, and more. As for “security”, we would like to give space to insightful elaboration on contemporary social threats and new phenomena that can be considered challenging to social stability and sustainability. These could make fantastic opportunities for new product and service development and implementation. We welcome papers that address problems and suggest solutions.
Workshop, 29th November 2024
This a fantastic opportunity for young researchers to meet the mentors in small groups, discuss their research projects, and get feedback

Scientific Journal of Safety and Logistics
The Scientific Journal of Safety and Logistics (SJSL) is an open-access, peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary academic journal focused on advancing research and discussions at the intersection of safety and logistics. The journal aims to publish original research, reviews, case studies, and commentary that contribute to the understanding and improvement of safety practices and logistics management in various industries, including but not limited to aerospace, maritime, manufacturing, transportation, supply chain, healthcare, and construction.
This journal will not only contribute to academic discourse but also provide practical insights for professionals in the field, fostering a safer and more efficient logistics environment.

Aims and Scope:
1. Safety in Logistics: Explore the challenges and solutions related to ensuring safety in logistics operations, including risk management, accident prevention, emergency response, and regulatory compliance.
2. Innovations in Logistics Management: Highlight advancements in logistics technology and processes that contribute to safer and more efficient operations.
3. Interdisciplinary Approaches: Encourage contributions from diverse fields such as engineering, information technology, human factors, organizational behavior, and environmental science.
4. Global and Local Perspectives: Address both global trends and specific regional issues in safety and logistics.
5. Sustainable Practices: Investigate how sustainable logistics practices contribute to safety improvements and vice versa.
The flow of articles is continuous, with an average response time of 30 days for submission evaluation. The deadline for article evaluation by reviewers is three months. The total time depends largely on the quality of the article and the speed of response from reviewers and authors themselves, but we work to meet the 90-day deadline. The inclusion of approved articles in an issue depends on several factors, but normally, they come out in a maximum of two issues. These are published quarterly (January-April, May-August, September-December).
GeP aims to be a reference in the publication of research and academic studies, but also to open space for scientific publications of a practical/technical nature. In this sense, it is also expected to accumulate works of technical reports and (real) teaching cases. The works will be evaluated by the Double Blind Review system ( Peer Review) by members of the scientific council.

As an essential editorial guideline, the journal must be a source that represents theoretical/conceptual advances, without being confined to a specific school of thought. This guideline takes into account that the development of knowledge is dynamic, so that there are advances in scientific contributions over time. And that the space is filled with the results of research and the reflections of researchers, which are considered central elements of the interests of scientific/technological development.
